Gracetown is a coastal town that is situated in Cowaramup Bay. The offshore Cowaramup Bombora surf break is one of the largest surfable waves in Australia.
Cowaramup Bay forms a natural harbour and is one of the few protected swimming spots in the area. These beaches are excellent for swimming, surfing, snorkelling or kayaking. And if you enjoy photography, then don’t miss out on seeing the amazing sunsets over the Indian ocean.
The Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park surrounds Gracetown. This beautiful park is one of the most popular parks in Western Australia. The Park extends from Cape Leeuwin to Cape Naturaliste and has the magnificent Karri trees in Boranup Forest. Other things to see in this Park are the natural caves, pristine beaches, surf breaks and of course magnificent views in the area. There is also a lighthouse at Cape leeuwin and at Cape Naturaliste and attract many visitors to the area.

This area is very popular for its world-class wines that are regarded as some of the best in Australia, and indeed the world. It is well worth visiting some of these wineries, not just to taste their wines, but also to sample there are excellent menus.
Grace Bussell, a local heroine had the town named after her. She helped with rescuing the crew from the SS Georgette which sank near the coast in 1876. The Royal Humane Society awarded Grace the silver medal for her bravery in helping rescue 50 people.
